Three local businessmen face federal charges

Three local businessmen are facing federal charges that include wire fraud and conspiracy.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says the three men arrested Thursday include 56 year old Craig Jerabeck of Rochester, 44 year old Jeb Tyler of Penfield and 42 year old Jason Guck of Victor.

The three were part of a multi-level marketing company called 5LINX and prosecutors allege the men were involved in a scheme to defraud investors by causing millions of dollars to be diverted from the company into their own personal bank accounts or debit cards without the knowledge or approval of the investors.

The three men were released after their arrest pending another court hearing in May.

The attorney for Jeb Tyler, Matthew Parrinello, says lawyers in the case are still waiting to see thousands of pages of documents from federal prosecutors. He also says additional compensation for the men may have been justified under the employment contracts the three had worked under.
