Three people were killed in a three-vehicle crash in Ontario County on Tuesday morning. It happened in the Town of Phelps on State Route 14 at Bostwick Road.
State Police say the driver of a car going westbound on Bostwick Road failed to stop at a stop sign and struck an SUV that was traveling north on Route 14. That collision forced the SUV into a pickup truck that was traveling south on the state highway.
The driver of the pickup truck and two passengers in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital to be treated. The driver of the car that went through the stop sign was not injured. Route 14 was closed for hours following the crash that happened just before 11 a.m.
Police have not yet released any names of those involved yet while families are notified and the investigation is continuing.
