Rochester Police say one person was wounded Friday night after exchanging gunfire with an officer. They say it happened just after 9 p.m. on Immel Street, near Jay Street.
Authorities say the shooting happened during a vehicle investigation. They say a suspect was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but officers say that person was alert when brought to the hospital. The officer was not injured.
It’s not known yet just what led up to the gunfire, but police are expected to update details on Saturday.
Officials also say there may be a second suspect.
