Susan B. Anthony's grave draws visitors reflecting on the election.

Susan B. Anthony's gravesite at Mt. Hope Cemetery continued to be a gathering spot for Rochesterians on Wednesday...this time coming to grips with the news of Hillary Clinton's defeat. Thousands flocked to the site on Tuesday to pay their respects to a key figure in the battle to get women the right to vote.

The crowds were much smaller on Wednesday... and more somber, too.

"I Voted" stickers still covered most of Anthony's headstone, now joined by notes, one reading "We came close, Susan B, but it wasn't meant to be."

Rebecca Holley is a University of Rochester student who works with SEGUE, the Survivor Empowerment Group. Sitting on a ledge across from Anthony's grave, she worried about what the election of Donald Trump will mean to her group's fight against sexual assault.

Holley said being at the site brought some comfort.

“It helps, I know that I’m not alone, I know that most women feel this way…one of my housemates was crying last night, but eventually, all these stickers have to be removed, the flowers die out, and they’re not going to last for four years, so I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Yolanda Reid of Rochester said it was comforting to be with others at the cemetery.

“This is like therapy right now being here because, you feel like you’re alone, and now, I know that I’m not. So many of us have wonderful intentions and we try and we’re not done fighting.”

Along with Tuesday's "I Voted" stickers were letters and poems left by visitors about Tuesday’s election results.
