The number of mumps cases at SUNY Geneseo is now up to 12.

There is also one ‘possible’ case which means it involves someone who has been tested for mumps and is awaiting results.

Last month SUNY Geneseo officials announced they had four cases of students with mumps.

In all 12 of the confirmed cases, college officials say each of the students had the two doses of the mumps vaccine, which normally is supposed to immunize a person against the illness.

The campus is not quarantined, but unvaccinated people are strongly discouraged from coming to campus at this time.

There's more information on the SUNY Geneseo website.
