Strong thunderstorms Friday night and early Saturday morning knocked out power to thousands of local utility customers.
R G & E reported more than 5,000 customers without power in Monroe County as of early Saturday morning and more than 4,000 in Wayne County.
NYSEG had scattered outages as well. The storms brought a lot of lightning, strong winds and heavy rain, especially along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
