State Police Say Body Of 2nd Boy Who Drowned At Letchworth Has Been Recovered

New York State Police

State Police have recovered the body of the second boy who drowned after an incident at Letchworth State Park last Saturday evening.

Troopers say that late Tuesday afternoon, an underwater recovery team from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and State Police found the body of  9 year old Dylan Giangregorio in the Genesee River below the Lower Falls.

Dylvan’s body was taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office. The body of his brother, 6 year old Preston Giangregorio, was recovered on Sunday afternoon.

Dylan and Preston attended the Brockport Central School District where Preston was in Kindergarten and Dylan was a 3rd grader.

Five others, two men and three girls,  were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment on Saturday night.

Police have said the group was an extended family from the Rochester area. Authorities say they were playing in the water Saturday night and one person slipped, causing  a ripple effect that caused them all to plunge over the falls.
