St. John Fisher Mourns Loss Of Pharmacy School Dean

St. John Fisher College is mourning the loss of the founding Dean of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy. Scott Swigart died Tuesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 58.

Over the last year, the Fisher community rallied around Swigart to support him while he was undergoing treatment. Faculty, staff, and students in the School of Pharmacy created purple “Team Swigart” pins, bracelets, and t-shirts, which were worn by members of the Fisher community on a daily basis

Swigart began at Fisher in 2005, and officials say the pharmacy school experienced tremendous growth since then.

“Scott was a spirited presence on campus, and a true friend. His leadership of the Wegmans School of Pharmacy created a culture that fostered student success and growth of the school,” said Fisher President Donald Bain.
