Albany, New York – Governor Eliot Spitzer says the focus of his State of the State message Wednesday will be economic development.
"Jobs, jobs, jobs is what we are focusing on," said Spitzer.
The governor says he considers the event an "important" speech that will lay out his agenda for the coming year. He says his message will center on economic development for New York, and address the need for investments in education, despite the $4.3 billion dollar state deficit.
The governor would not comment on reports that he may propose selling the division of the lottery or set up a commission to study capping property taxes.
