Some Leaders of Faith Community Support RPD's Reorganization Plan

Leaders of the faith community in Rochester say they've been working with the Rochester Police Department to communicate the importance of the reorganization plan to residents.

Bishop Greg Parris says it is not up to the church to decide how the RPD implements its policing strategies. Instead, he says its the responsibility of the church to help make the community a happy and healthy place.

"We look at the police department as being partners with us in doing that to make lives better to end deterioration in the community and so if we can say that, speak that, walk that, then we think we'll have success in this area."

Warren says the reorganization is on track, despite push back from the Locust Club Police Union. They recently filed an improper labor practice charge meant to temporarily block the reorganization plan until an investigation by the state Public Employment Relations Board
