Some Changes For The Jazz Fest

Xerox Rochester Int'l Jazz Festival

Club Passes for next year's Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival go on sale this coming Friday, and organizers are already announcing some changes for next year's event.

It runs June 19th to the 27th, and it will include a new venue that officials say seats a thousand people. That will be part of the Club Pass events. More details will be announced next month. Other changes include the fact that Abilene Bar and Lounge will not be part of the festival.

There will be a new combined "Squeezer's Roots"  and American Stage in the Sibley Building on Main Street on the second floor. The Squeezer's stage debuted last year at The Inn on Broadway, which will not be available next year due to construction.

Also, two additional nights will be added for the Harro Ballroom schedule, making that venue open all nine days of the festival. Another change announced is that the 6:00 p.m. shows at the Rochester Regional Health System Big Tent will now be free and feature regional big bands.

The 8 p.m and 10 p.m.  shows remain $20 at the door or access with the Club Pass.

Announcements for some of the shows at the Eastman Theatre are expected early next year, with the complete released in March.

The Club Pass goes on sale Friday, October 24 at 10a.m. at the early bird price of $174 plus $6 dollar service charge; $8 if mailed.
