Snow, wind on tap for the start of the week

The Monday morning commute may be a bit tricky in spots, particularly to the east of Rochester.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisoryfor Monroe and several other counties in Western New York and the Finger Lakes. It has now been extended until 7 a.m. on Monday.

A few inches of snow fell in the immediate Rochester area overnight, with higher amounts to the southwest and east of the city.

There is still a winter storm warningfor counties including Wayne and Wyoming Counties, and counties in the Finger Lakes and Central NY until Monday afternoon with another 2 to 4 inches of snow  in some areas. 

It will be windy as well, with gusts up to 45 mph Sunday night  and Monday creating visibility problems for drivers.

There were also several school delayed-openings, mainly in the Finger Lakes.

The high temperature on Monday start near 30, but drop back a bit during the afternoon, and wind chill factors will be well below that temperature.
