Ontario County Deputies say a road in the Town of Phelps was closed for a couple of hours Saturday night after a small ammonia leak.
They say a valve on a tank containing anhydrous ammonia malfunctioned allowing a small amount of the ammonia to leak from a drain hose on some property on Fisher Road.
Firefighters and haz-mat teams responded. Two nearby residents smelled the ammonia and had some dizziness but were not hospitalized.
People in the immediate area were told to shelter in place while the leak was cleaned and contained.
