Six to be inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame

The Rochester Music Hall of Fame has announced its 2017 inductees. There are six of them, including:

-Samuel Adler, a celebrated classical composer and Eastman School of Music professor from 1966 to 1995

-Joe Beard, blues guitarist and vocalist and member of the Son of House band

-Gary Lewis, the 1960s hitmaker with Gary Lewis and the Playboys who now lives in the Rochester area

-“Uncle” Roger McCall, radio DJ and supporter of Rochester’s local music scene

-Greg Sullivan and The Penny Arcade, owner of the Penny Arcade, the famous Rochester music club

-Lewis Soloff, Grammy Award-winning trumpeter for Blood Sweat & Tears.

The 6th annual induction ceremony will be held April 30th, 7pm at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.

Among the performances scheduled for that night, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Joe Beard, and David Clayton-Thomas, the lead singer for Blood, Sweat & Tears.
