Driving has been a challenge on Wednesday due to several inches of snow, although the total amounts may be less than originally predicted.

There were a number of accidents reported throughout the day.

The National Weather Service has now canceled the Winter Storm Warning for Monroe and nearby counties. But there is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until Thursday at 6:00 a.m. There is the possibility of another 3 to 5 inches of snow, mainly in areas right along the lakeshore.

About 6 inches of snow fell on parts of the region by early Wednesday evening.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren reminded city residents that it is their obligation to keep sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses clear. They are also asked to keep fire hydrants clear.

Residents are reminded that it is illegal to shovel or plow snow into the street or public right of way, and may be ticketed. City Hall also reminds residents to follow alternate side of the street parking regulations to help the plows clear the streets.

There are some school and organization closings, mainly to the south and east of Rochester. You can check the list here.

There were also several flights delayed or canceled at the Greater Rochester International Airport. You can check the latest list here.
