Senator Nozzolio Undergoes Open Heart Surgery

Senator Michael Nozzolio is recovering from successful open heart surgery.

The Seneca Falls Republican had surgery at the Celeveland Clinic last week to repair and replace his faulty heart valves.

In a statement from his office, Nozzolio and his wife, Rosemary, thanked friends and constituents for their prayers and words of encouragement in recent weeks.

Senator Nozzolio announcedearlier this year that he would not be seeking re-election to his seat in the 54th State Senate District because of the months of recuperation that will be needed following his surgery.

The 64-year old was first elected to the Senate in 1993.
