School Bus Monitor Details Her Emotional Story to WXXI

The worldwide attention continues for Greece school bus monitor Karen Klein, including an online fundraising effort that totals more than $660,000.

The elderly grandmother was relentlessly taunted and verbally abused by middle school students. The incident was captured in a 10 minute video posted to YouTube showing Klein trying her best to ignore the stream of profanity, insults and outright threats directed at her.

Klein sat down with WXXI's LeShea Agnew to describe her experience and also voice her appreciation to everyone who has offered financial or emotional support.

The school district and Greece Police are investigating to determine possible punishment for the students. They plan a joint news conference at 1:00 Thursday afternoon.

The online fundraising effort began as video of the incident went viral. As of 9:00 Thursday morning, the total was $664,0000 and growing.

Klein says she's overwhelmed at the messages of support she's received from around the world.
