The Salvation Army is kicking off its annual Red Kettle Campaign tomorrow.
The goal this year is $560,000-- the same as it was last year. Major Douglas Hart says the Salvation welcomes monetary donations, but that's not all. “People can purchase food and bring that to the Salvation Army locations. We’re also taking donations of coats, gloves and hats—anything that can be useful during the cold season we have coming up.”
Starting tomorrow, volunteers will be ringing bells and asking for donations for the red kettles at markets, shopping malls and even some college campuses.
The Salvation Army will use the funds to help provide meals, toys and other necessities to people in need throughout Monroe County.
The campaign runs through December 24.
