RTS Running Behind Schedule Due to Weather Conditions

UPDATED AT 11:28 - There are now 15 buses stuck in the city.

Tom Brede, Public Information Officer for the Regional Transit Service, says buses are running at least 30 minutes behind schedule.

He says 10 of their buses are currently stuck in the snow around the city, and it's particularly difficult in the Southwest portion.

Brede says the RTS Transit Center's North busway is also closed, and all buses scheduled to pull into that busway will be using the Mortimer Street drop off to load and unload passengers.

"We're working as fast as we can and as best we can to get our customers where they need to go today, but like everyone's experiencing there are definitely some delays out there."

Weather reports indicate the heavy snow is expected to continue until mid-day, with lighter snow continuing until around 7PM.

"While running on time and getting our customers to jobs and school and health care appointments is of the utmost importance to us, doing so safely is even more important."
