RTS Holds Forums To Talk About Service Changes

There are informational sessions this week to provide information about changes coming to some services provided by RTS.  That includes the Lift Line Service.  Officials say they are proposing changes to meet the changing needs of the population served by Lift Line, such as those who have mobility issues.

Several informational sessions are scheduled including one on Tuesday night from 6 to 8pm  at ABVI on South Clinton Avenue.

Daniele Coll-Gonzalez is Chief Operating officer for the RGRTA.  She says the organization does try to take feedback it gets from customers into account.

"We hear from our customers regularly, we know what some of the challenges have been and are, and that is one of the reasons that we are really making an effort to incorporate that feedback into the changes that we are going to propose. "

There is also an informational session scheduled for Thursday on changes being proposed for the Suburban Park and Ride Routes.  That sessions is set for Thursday, from Noon to 1pm at the Central Library.

Coll-Gonzalez says a main reason for changes to the Park and Ride service has to do with the new transit center opening downtown later this year.

'What we will be doing, is we will be proposing some changes, similar to the changes that we proposed with our urban routes because the transit center will become the only transfer point downtown. And so we will need to make some changes to those routes as well."

Public hearings, which will be set up to get feedback from riders, are scheduled for Saturday, July 19th at the SUNY Brockport Metro Center on St. Paul Street.
