RPO Looking Forward Post Remmereit
The Rochester Philarmonic Orchestra's Board of Directors fired Music Director Arild Remmereit this week, citing his failure to perform his contractual job responsibilities.
Now, the search is on for a new music director.
In the meantime, the orchestra has lined up several guest conductors for the rest of this season, and planning for next season is underway.
That's according to Mark Berry, RPO vice president for marketing and communications.
He says an artistic advisory team from the orchestra is working with the orchestra's vice president of artistic operations, Dick Decker, to plan next season.
A number of guest conductors will lead the orchestra, including Yoah Talmi this weekend.
Berry says an announcement is coming soon on the guest conductors for future concerts.
