RPD investigating discovery of 2 bodies in separate incidents

Rochester Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies in what appear to be separate incidents.

They say that they have been conducting an investigation to locate 33 year old Moran Wilson, who has been missing under suspicious circumstances since last Friday.

On Saturday night, while using a search warrant at 52 Dayton Street, police located what appears to be a human body buried in the backyard at that location.

Police have not yet positively identified the body.

Chief Michael Ciminelli says police are doing a thorough search at that location which will take many hours.  As a result of the investigation, three people have been taken into custody on unrelated charges.

Ciminelli says RPD has no reason to believe members of the community are in any danger.

Police are asking that if anyone has any information they call 911.

In particular, RPD is attempting to locate a vehicle in connection with this investigation.  The vehicle is a 2009 MAZDA CX9, color red, with NY Plate Number HJA-6910.  Anyone spotting this vehicle should not approach it, but should call 911 immediately.

On Sunday, RPD also said that the body of a male was found in an open field on Miller St.  It is being investigated as a homicide. At this point, police do not believe the two incidents are related.
