Rochester's Airport Receives Grant For Capital Improvements

The Greater Rochester International Airport will receive a $428,000 grant from New York State.

That according to Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo who says the money will be used to make improvements to the Monroe County Airport Authority Hangar.

The Airport Authority currently leases the hanger to one of the fixed base operators which provide services such as deicing, fueling and aircraft maintenance. The hangar is the former home of Kodak Aviation, and it was originally built in the 1950's.

The funds will be used to rehabilitate the hangar floor and reconstruct the original aircraft parking apron.
