Rochester Man Charged in Dog Fighting Arrrest

Rochester, NY – The Humane Society of Greater Rochester says a Rochester man has been arrested on animal fighting charges after a wounded pit bull was found in his back yard.

Spokeswoman Adrienne McHargue says 34 year old Terrell Wade of Avenue B was charged with Felony Animal Fighting -- which carries a penalty of up to four years in jail and a $25,000 fine.

Investigators were called to Wade's address by Rochester Police and Rochester Animal Control after the wounded dog was found in his yard. It turned out to have older injuries consistent with wounds from dog fighting. The investigators siezed a total of four adult pit bulls and equipment used to train dogs for fighting. All are being held at the Lollypop Farm shelter.

Wade is being held at the Monroe County Jail.
