Rochester General Hospital has announced some restrictions for patient visitation because of what they say has been a rapid increase in flu cases in the last two weeks.

Those restrictions include:

--Visitors will be limited to no more than two people per patient at a time.

--All visitors must be at least 14 years old.

All visitors experiencing symptoms associated with the flu (runny nose, coughing/sneezing, high temperature, etc.) are asked to not come to the hospital, even if you've been vaccinated against the flu.  The precautions are only in effect at RGH and not the health systems affiliated hospitals.

UR Medicine issued a similar policy on Monday for several hospitals including Strong and Highland.
