As the world absorbs the news that iconic comedian Robin Williams has died, a Rochester woman is recalling meeting him in the 1980s.
At the time, Carol Roberts was doing improv and stand-up comedy in San Francisco. She said Williams would regularly stop by for open mic night at one of the clubs where she worked, after he had already found fame as the frenetic and lovable character Mork from the TV show Mork and Mindy. Roberts says Williams did it just for the love of comedy.
