There's a big job change for the Dean of the RIT Saunders College of Business. The university issued a statement saying that dt ogilvie will step down as Dean to become a Distinguished Professor of Urban Entrepreneurship at RIT and will also be chair of the advisory board for RIT's Center for Urban Entrepreneurship.

The statement did not explain why she is making the switch, but RIT Provost Jeremy Haefner thanked her and cited a number of accomplishments including improved academic rankings for Saunders and a new focus on marketing. Haefner said that ogilvie "brought tremendous energy and a spirit of innovation to her work at Saunders."

Ogilvie joined RIT as the business dean  in 2012. Prior to that she was a professor at the Rutgers Business School.  Haefner says an interim RIT business dean will be named until a permanent successor is identified.

Currently there is an interim director for RIT's Center for Urban Entrepreneurship. That is former Rochester economic development official Carlos Carballada.  Carballada is filling in after the former director, Del Smith, left the position a few months ago to join May0r Lovely Warren's administration as commissioner of neighborhood and business development.

RIT is still seeking a permanent replacement for the director of the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship.

Randy Gorbman is WXXI's director of news and public affairs. Randy manages the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
