State Senator Rich Funke, who is one of the seven freshmen who make up the new Senate Republican Majority, has been chosen to deliver the official GOP response to Governor Cuomo's State of the State and Budget address.
Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos says that Funke and the entire freshman class were instrumental in returning Republicans to the majority in the senate, and he says they will play a key role in helping implmenet an agenda which cuts taxes and encourages the private sector to create jobs.
Funke, a former longtime Rochester radio TV news and sports anchor, represents the 55th Senate District which includes parts of Monroe and Ontario Counties. He defeated incumbent Democrat Ted O'Brien last November.
Governor Cuomo's State of the State and budget message will be delivered Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., and WXXI radio & TV will provide live coverage.
