A Reprieve For A Batavia Shoe Manufacturer

There is apparently a deal in place to keep a shoe factory in Batavia open, after word that the company, PW Minor, was going to close as of July 31st.

A spokesman for the nearly 150 year old company says that an incentive package from New York State, along with a restructuring of PW Minor's operations, will keep the plant open, retaining about 55 jobs.

The new owners, Andrew Young and Peter Zeliff, along with government officials will gather at the plant on Thursday morning to talk about the deal.
