Reports: Xerox In Talks To Accquire R.R. Donnelley & Sons

There's speculation that Xerox may acquire the financial printing firm R.R. Donnelley & Sons.

Both Bloomberg & Reuters are reporting the company has been in talks to acquire the Chicago-based firm.

The stories say the talks are at an early stage, but it's possible a deal will be announced before Xerox's planned split into two companies is completed. That's supposed to happen by the end of the year.

Bloomberg said that under this deal, Xerox would merge some of R.R. Donnelley's operations with its copier, printer and related services business and the rest with its business process outsourcing division.

Representatives of Xerox and Donnelley have not commented on the speculation.
