Rep. Slaughter Visits CDS Monarch Warrior Salute

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter paid a visit Thursday to CDS Monarch Warrior Salute, a program focused on helping military veterans who are returning home with traumatic brain injury or other serious injuries.

Retired Major General Robert Mixon says as a veteran and father of three active service members, the Monarch Warrier program is something that is "near and dear to his heart."  

He says they provide housing, food, therapy, rehabilitation, a job and paycheck to help injured service members regain their lives and make them make a successful transition back to civilian life.

Congresswoman Slaughter says tens of thousands of seriously wounded veterans will need our help for a very long time.

She says she's very proud of the work done by Warrior Salute, and met with many participants in the program.
