Peanuts and Cracker Jack are part of the menu at any American baseball park, but that can be a problem for fans who have nut allergies.

The Rochester Red Wings say that's why the team is now offering a peanut and tree nut-free seating section at Frontier Field.

"We do believe this is the only allergy-free seating section in minor league baseball and in major league baseball, so we're very proud of the fact,” said Wings general manager Dan Mason. “We've gotten a lot of positive feedback from our friends in the allergy community."

The peanut and tree nut-free zone will be in Section 217, which is already a family section where alcohol is off-limits. Several years ago, a grass berm along the third base line was declared an allergy free zone.

The new "allergy aware" seating section will be unveiled on Sunday when the Red Wings take on the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.
