RBTL names 4 local business leaders to lead capital campaign for performing arts center

RBTL/LaBella Associates

The Rochester Broadway Theatre League says it has named four prominent and respected local business leaders to serve as co-chairs of a capital campaign to build a performing arts center downtown.

The RBTL named accounting firm leader Tom Bonadio, Elaine Del Monte of the DelMonte Hotel Group, developer David Flaum and Red Wings president Naomi Silver.

Plans for the Golisano Performing Arts Center were announced in April when Mayor Lovely Warren said her administration was backing a proposal from RBTL for Parcel 5.

In a statement about the just-named fundraising committee, RBTL CEO Arnie Rothschild said, “The quality and prestige of these four individuals speaks volumes about the wide ranging community support for the new Golisano Performing Arts Center. This project combining the Golisano Performing Arts Center with 150 apartments to be developed by Morgan Communities will change Rochester for generations to come.”

RBTL projects that the center will book $18.5 million in ticket sales a year, and have a yearly economic impact of $55.5 million for downtown Rochester.

Paychex founder and philanthropist Tom Golisano has pledged $25 million toward the project which it’s estimated could cost around $130 million.
