Power Problems Persist After Heavy, Wet Snow

rge.com

The worst of the  heavy, wet snow that fell in the Rochester area may be over, but power outages continued into Wednesday.  Just before 2:00 pm, RG&E reported about 2000 customers without power in its service territory, mostly in Monroe County.

At the peak of the outages, at about 5:00 a.m., RG& E had around 16,000 customers without power throughout the region. Most of the issues had to do with the snow taking down tree limbs and power lines.

You are advised to stay away from downed lines because they could be live. You can call 1-800-743-1701 to report an outage to R G & E.
