Power Outage Numbers Grow

High winds brought down tree branches and power lines on Friday.  As of Noon, Rochester Gas and Electric had listed about 10,000 customers in Monroe County without electricity, with more than 4,000 of those customers in Webster.

R G & E spokesman Dan Hucko says the utility was ready with additional crews because of the forecast of high winds.  There is no specific time when everyone was expected to be back on line.

R G & E again cautions people who come across downed power lines to stay away from them, because they could still be live.

If you are an R G & E customer and have an outage or a downed line on your property, call them at: 1-800-743-1701.
