Rochester, New York – RG&E customers could experience rolling brownouts or temporary blackouts as the utility will implement short-term power interruptions at the request of the New York Independent System Operator.
Dick Marion, spokesman for Rochester Gas and Electric said there were already some short-term outages Friday morning in parts of Webster, Irondequoit and Rochester. Power was out for about a half-an-hour.
Meanwhile RG&E is asking customers to reduce their use of major appliances. That includes air conditioning. The more power that is used could result in a disruption of service.
