Pittsford company to lay off nearly 200

www.concentrix.com

A local business services company is laying off nearly 200 people.  Concentrix Corporation, which is located on Monroe Avenue in Pittsford, filed the requirednotice with the New York State Labor Department.

According to that notice, 192 people will be laid off for economic reasons.  The notice says the facility employs a total of 521 people.

The layoffs are set to happen by the end of the year.

Concentrix is part of California based Synnex Corporation.

Concentrix  officials sent WXXI News this statement:

Concentrix will continue to invest and grow locally and globally.  We are not closing the Rochester site.  Rather, a local client recently assessed its support footprint (as it does annually) and determined that services provided by Concentrix in Pittsford were redundant.  We are encouraging impacted staff in good standing to consider other open roles within the company.  Our business will continue to grow aggressively, including our work-at-home program.  Thus, there are opportunities for impacted staff to remain employed with Concentrix by transitioning to other available positions, both inside and outside our brick and mortar locations.”
