Paterson Submits New Revenue Bill

Albany, New York – Governor Paterson has proposed a new tax and fee bill that leaves out proposals to tax out- of- state hedge fund managers and to sell wine in grocery stores. It also includes a contingency plan in case federal Medicaid monies do not materialize, and changes to SUNY and CUNY, as well as a 4% property tax cap. But the governor says the legislature has refused to allow his aids to deliver it to the Senate and Assembly chambers. Paterson and his budget director, Robert Megna, spoke to the Albany Bureau's Karen DeWitt.
