Dawn Nguyen and attorney Matt Parinello leaving Tuesday's Federal Court hearing.

The woman convicted of buying the guns that were later used in the 2012  Christmas Eve ambush of two West Webster firefighters has been denied parole.

Last September Dawn Nguyen was sentenced to eight years in federal prison. Earlier in the year she was sentenced to one and a third to four years in state prison. The sentences are running at the same time.

The New York State Board of Parole this week denied parole to Nguyen, saying that her earlier behavior demonstrated a complete disregard for the law.

A statement from the board also said that “What is further distressing is your lack of insight into your criminal conduct, shallow expression of remorse and failure to recognize the community impact of your actions.”
