Parkway Bridge Over Salmon Creek to be Replaced

Work is underway on replacing the Lake Ontario State Parkway Bridge over Salmon Creek.
The State Department of Transportation has started work on the $4.7-million dollar project to replace the 54 year old bridge with two new ones.
Spokesperson Lori Maher says traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the project, expected to take two years.
The project also includes adding a new fishing platform, and improving access to Braddock Bay by constructing a new walkway from the parking lot on Manitou Road.
The new structures should be competed by October, 2014, and miscellaneous work may continue through June, 2015.
