Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo says even though there's a Wednesday deadline for gun owners to submit forms to keep their information private, her office won't be releasing those details right now, even if the forms haven't been filed.
Dinolfo says under the state's new gun law, she doesn't have to start releasing those details until all of the opt-out forms have been processed.
She says that there's a big backlog right now of those forms at the clerk's office, with about 17-thousand forms to process.
Dinolfo has also asked for additional funds from the state to help pay the additional costs her office has incurred trying to process all of the forms.
