Arrest Made After Gates Shooting

TWC News

Gates Police have made an arrest after a shooting at a bar early Saturday morning that left one person dead and six others injured after a shooting.

Gates Police Chief James VanBrederode says  that  someone opened fire inside Gates Pub on Hinchey Road around 1:30 a.m.

The Democrat&Chronicle reports that the victim is identified as 37 year old Ricky Jones. The suspect is 31 year old David Alligood, who pled not guilty to a second degree murder charge on Saturday. Reportedly Alligood was on parole at the time of the shooting.

Among the survivors of the shooting, one person is said to be in critical condition, the other 5 in stable condition.

Authorities say there were 100 to 150 people inside the pub at the time of the incident. It's believed the shooting happened after an argument. Officers were in the area at the time and heard shots being fired.
