NYS Approves Funding For Local Economic Development Projects

Empire State Development, the state's economic development agency, has approved more than $100 million to fund nearly two dozen projects including some in the Finger Lakes and Western NY area.

It includes $5 million for costs related to work at the so-called "STAMP" (Science, Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing) business park in Genesee County. The money will help a solar company called '1366 Technologies' establish its business at that location. The project will be completed next August.

St. John Fisher College will received a half-million dollar grant to help pay for a new integrated science and health sciences building.

And Roberts Wesleyan College is receiving a $250,000 grant as part of construction of a nursing and STEM sciences buidling.
