ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York residents can begin applying for winter heating aid this week.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says households can begin applying for aid through New York's Home Energy Assistance Program on Monday. The federally-funded program provides up to $650 for eligible households to pay for heating energy costs.
Eligibility for the program, commonly known as HEAP, is based on income and household size.
People living outside of New York City seeking a regular HEAP benefit can submit applications online at myBenefits.ny.gov.
