New Greece Chief Calls for Community Connection

Greece, NY – The Town of Greece has a new chief of police.

Todd Baxter took the oath of office Monday afternoon at the Greece Community and Senior Center.

County, town and law enforcement officials and community members came out in support of the appointment.

Baxter says he plans to build relationships between the community and the police department to gain their trust. He says their input is also important to achieving the goals of the department over the next five years.

Baxter spent 22 years with the Rochester Police Department. He leaves a post as captain and replaces former Chief Merritt Rahn who resigned amid charges of official misconduct.
