New Focus is on Patient Centered Healthcare

Rochester is on the right path to creating a healthcare system based on patient centered care according to Debra Ness, president of the National Partnership for Women and Families.

Ness says while the city faces numerous healthcare challenges, the good news is health officials have reached a point of shared goals.

Ness adds, in order for Rochester to remain on the right path, health officials must continue to depart from traditional thinking and invite patients to help develop more effective policies.

Ness says it's impossible to accomplish patient centered care if the health community doesn't include patients and their families in policy making discussions and decisions.
