A Wyoming county based-bank is bringing 150 employees to downtown Rochester to the newly named Five Star Bank Plaza, formerly HSBC.
Officials from the city and representatives from Five Star Bank made the announcement today.
President and CEO Marty Birmingham says they will bring their regional administrative center from Pittsford to the new downtown location.
He says they will serve the banking and community development needs of the underbanked and underserved, as targeted by the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty initiative.
"Those that could use banking services, the economically vulnerable part of our population, so we intend to serve those needs in a way that we're very excited about."
Birmingham says, pending approval from regulators, Five Star will also open a new financial solution center, a technology-driven branch, in the lobby of building.
The bank will be moving to its new regional administrative center, including a new downtown branch office, over the next year.
