NAACP President To Speak At The University Of Rochester

The outgoing president of the NAACP will deliver the University of Rochester's Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative address next month.

Benjamin Jealous already announced this fall that he will be leaving the organization at the end of this year to spend more time with his family. He led the organization for the past five years, and the 40 year old is the youngest president in the history of the NAACP.

He will speak on Friday, January 24 at the Strong Auditorium on the River Campus.  Jealous will talk about the tradition of leadership that connects Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr.,  Shirley Chisholm, Frederick Douglass and others to inspire young people to change the world.

The annual address kicks off the U of R's Black History Month celebration.
