More Details Released On Infant Death In Batavia

Batavia Police have released more information about the arrest of a woman accused  of intentionally killing her infant.

Police say that late Thursday night, they were called to a 'suspicious condition' at 208 Liberty Street in Batavia.

Officers found a dead infant at the home, and detectives were able to determine that the child was born at home, and that the mother, 28 year old Christina Colantino, kept the deceased infant there for a prolonged period of time.

An autopsy confirmed the infant was a girl, and more test results are pending. Colantino was  charged with second degree murder and ordered held without bail pending further court proceedings.
