More Details Released About Deadly Crash In Pittsford

TWC News

Monroe County Deputies have released more information about an incident which reportedly began with a theft in Ontario County  and ended with a deadly crash in Pittsford.

Late Wednesday morning, Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero says his dispatchers got a call at about 11:00 a.m. about a larceny at a Farmington CVS store.

A deputy who was  stationed on 490 saw a vehicle believed to be related to the theft and pursued that car. But officials say the deputy then backed off the chase for safety reasons. Monroe County deputies have identified the driver as 33 year old Noah Marinelli of Canandaigua.

They say Marinelli was speeding on 490 when his car glanced off the center media near the off-ramp entrance to 31F. The car crossed all three lanes of traffic and left the roadway after hitting a guard rail.

Both Marinelli and his passenger, 31 year old Danielle Golding of Utica were ejected from the car. Authorities say Marinelli was thrown about 150 into the woods from the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Golding was taken by MercyFlight to be treated at Strong Hospital.
